The city of Columbia and Richland County are in talks for a possible consolidation of metropolitan government.
Hundreds were in attendance last night to consider the measure last night at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Leaders from the city and county councils were on hand to hear the concerns of residents and to discuss changes that would occur if the change went forward.
A main point of contention is the possible annexation of unincorporated areas of Richland County into Columbia city government.
