(Columbia, SC) -- The mother of a Richland County sheriff's deputy who committed suicide is speaking out.
Karen Fish, mom to the late Master Deputy Derek Fish, addressed the high-rate of suicides among law enforcement and first responders when she spoke yesterday at the department's headquarters in Columbia.
Her son killed himself July 28th behind the Region Three offices of the department. Her speech was given as part of National Suicide Prevention Month.
