State's Oldest Public Housing Project Demolished

(Columbia, SC)  --  South Carolina's oldest housing project is demolished, after experiencing years of decay.  

Officials with the Columbia Housing Authority commemorated the official closure of the Gonzales Gardens projects during an event yesterday.  

The 600 residents who lived at the complex that was built in 1940 are relocated.
