(Gaston, SC) -- The Lexington County Sheriff's Office says a student who brought a gun to a middle school can return.
Authorities said yesterday that the child brought the unloaded .380 caliber to Frances Mack Intermediate School one week ago today. He reportedly showed it to classmates before it was confiscated. The weapon was owned by the child's mom.
The student was returned to that parent's custody. The school district did not announce any disciplinary action.
