(Columbia, SC) -- For a small state, South Carolina appears to have a big problem when it comes to violence against women.
A recent study finds the state has the 5th highest rate in the country of women killed by men.
This is the 6th year in a row South Carolina has ranked in the top five of the Violence Policy Center Study.
The study is based on the most recent data available from 2015 when 46 women were murdered by men
