SCANA Leaving Expensive Equipment Exposed To Elements

(Columbia, SC)  --  Hope that a multi-billion dollar nuclear project can be salvaged seems to be dimming more every day.

State regulators told lawmakers yesterday that SCANA has left equipment at an abandoned reactor site in Fairfield County open to the elements and susceptible to damage.  That could make the equipment unusable for any future projects.

Preserving the equipment could cost millions of dollars, and lawmakers admit they have no power to make SCANA do so.
