(Columbia, SC) -- There's a crisis coming, and South Carolina does not appear ready to handle it.
That's the conclusion made by the Rand Corporation in a new report about what it calls the Alzheimer's crisis. The report predicts this crisis will come to a head in 2025, and South Carolina is one of the five states least prepared to deal with it.
One reason the state appears to be unprepared is a lack of specialists qualified to screen, diagnose and treat patients.
