Quinn Pleads Guilty To Misconduct, Resigns

(Columbia, SC)  --  State Representative Rick Quinn is resigning after pleading guilty to misconduct.

Quinn pleaded guilty in open court yesterday to one count of statutory misconduct related to an illegal lobbying scheme.  The state circuit judge said she would defer sentencing for the ex-Republican lawmaker.

As part of the deal, Quinn's father Richard Quinn has had his charges dropped and will be required to pay $3000 restitution.  The elder Quinn will be testifying in front of the state grand jury next month.
