(Sumter, SC) -- A Sumter County woman will get a chance today to explain to a judge a series of bizarre actions that ended with her in handcuffs.
Mia Thornton is accused of stealing three cars, including a patrol car, and crashing them yesterday morning. After she was arrested for stealing the second car, deputies say she slipped out of the handcuffs and drove off in the patrol car.
A high-speed chase ended after 15 minutes when she crashed into a tree and was arrested for a second time.
