(Columbia, SC) -- The creation of the largest non-profit health care system in the state is now on hold.
Governor Henry McMaster last week denied a debt restructuring deal between Greenville Health System and Palmetto Health.
McMaster says the two companies need to get approval from officials in Greenville and Oconee counties before he'll let the merger go forward.
The two companies announced more than six months ago their plans to merge and form The SC Health Company.
