(Columbia, SC) -- A Columbia church admits it was wrong and promises to change.
First Baptist Church has reached a settlement with a family whose son was sexually abused by a church volunteer.
The church will pay 300-thousand dollars and provide staff with training on how to spot signs of abuse.
A lawyer for the victim and his family tells "The State" his clients are pleased with the settlement, and they're glad to see the church taking long-overdue steps to prevent future incidents of abuse.
