Lottery Glitch Could Cost State Millions

(Columbia, SC)  --  A glitch in a state lottery game could lead to a late Christmas present for thousands.

Lottery officials told lawmakers yesterday paying those mistakenly declared winners in the Holiday Cash Add-A-Play game would cost almost 34-million dollars.

There's no word on if the state will pay, but if it doesn't, it would likely face lawsuits from those winners.

The "Post and Courier" reports one lawmaker who sits on the lottery oversight panel says the lottery's entire credibility is at stake.
