(Columbia, SC) -- South Carolina drivers will soon be experiencing some short-term pain in order to get some long-term gain.
SCDOT told lawmakers yesterday road projects will start soon across the state. Secretary Christy Hall says road construction signs will be a constant presence as the state makes good use of revenue from a higher gas tax.
Hall estimates the tax increase will bring in almost 150-million dollars this year and will eventually bring in over 600-million a year.
