Ceremony Held To Commemorate Orangeburg Massacre

(Orangeburg, SC)  --  Fifty years after those trying to integrate a bowling alley were shot, change is still something that needs to be fought for.

That's what one speaker said yesterday at a ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Orangeburg Massacre.  Three black students were killed and 27 wounded while protesting at South Carolina State University.

One of those who was there that day tells "The State" vigilance is still needed in efforts to achieve equality.
