Drilling Opponents Gathering In Columbia

(Columbia, SC)  --  Tomorrow appears to be the only chance opponents of offshore drilling will get to have their voices heard, and they plan to take advantage of it.

The federal Bureau of Ocean Management is holding a meeting in Columbia to get public input on allowing drilling off the coast, and no other meetings are planned before the public comment period ends in March.

Environmentalists will be rallying at the statehouse with Congressman Mark Sanford and Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin.

After the rally, protesters will attend the hearing where a Pawleys Island resident tells "The State" federal officials will get an earful.
