(Columbia, SC) -- The governor's plan to enhance school safety may be more expensive than he realizes.
Henry McMaster has budgeted five million dollars to pay for putting a resource officer in every school, but doing that could cost 60-million dollars in just the first year.
"The State" came up with those numbers by analyzing figures provided by the state Education Department.
McMaster said yesterday he'll urge the General Assembly to find the necessary funding.
