Senate Passes Electric Chair Bill

(Columbia, SC)  --  South Carolina is a step closer to doing something it hasn't done in a decade.

The senate yesterday passed a bill that would make the electric chair the preferred method of execution if lethal injection is either unavailable or ruled unconstitutional.

The last time anyone in the state was electrocuted was 2008.

Greenville County Senator William Timmons sponsored the bill that now goes to the House.
