City Council Keeps Alive Hopes For New School Athletic Fields

(Columbia, SC)  --  There's reason for optimism for those hoping to build new athletics fields in Columbia.

The city council last night voted to approve a rezoning that would allow Dreher High School to build new fields and tennis courts.

Before a final vote is taken in April, though, the council wants school officials and neighbors to settle their differences over the project.

Neighbors are worried the project will bring extra lights, traffic and noise.
