SC Students May Be Able To Use Scholarship Money Out Of State

(Columbia, SC)  --  Students who leave South Carolina for college may be able to take their scholarship dollars with them.

A bill discussed yesterday in the state senate would allow recipients of a LIFE, HOPE or Palmetto Fellowship scholarship to use the tuition money at an out-of-state school.

To do so, the student must major in a program no in-state school offers.

Edgefield Senator Shane Massey introduced the bill, and he tells "The State" he believes students who take advantage of the offer will come back home once they have their degree.
