(Columbia, SC) -- The governor believes new documents confirm his suspicions about Santee Cooper.
Governor Henry McMaster yesterday released emails from Santee Cooper that he says prove his concerns that the lobbyists were trying to undermine his efforts to sell the public utility.
"The State" reports some emails show lobbyists instructing Orangeburg Senator Brad Hutto to insist Santee Cooper is not for sale, and another email claims Hutto agreed.
McMaster has been trying to sell Santee Cooper for seven months, but he cannot do so without the approval of state lawmakers.
