Pro-Solar Bill Passes House

(Columbia, SC)  --  The solar industry can bask in the glow of a legislative victory.

House lawmakers yesterday passed a bill that eliminates a cap on the credits homeowners can receive for installing solar panels.

The bill also protects non-solar customers by making it illegal for electric utilities to charge customers to offset the losses that may be caused by the growth in solar power.

The bill still has to pass the Senate before it becomes law.
