Compromise Reached To Resolve Dreher High School Athletics Dispute

(Columbia, SC)  --  Columbia's mayor is crediting compromise for resolving a dispute between neighbors and a high school.

The Richland One School Board yesterday approved an agreement that allows Dreher High School to build new athletics fields and tennis courts.

Neighbors complained the expanded facilities would lead to more traffic, noise and light pollution, but a compromise was reached last week after an eight-hour meeting.

Mayor Steve Benjamin tells "The State" no one was too proud to compromise.
