McMaster Wants Congressional Action To Prevent Prison Riots

(Columbia, SC)  --  The governor is looking to Congress to change a law he calls an absolute outrage.

Henry McMaster yesterday discussed a prison riot this weekend in Bishopville that left seven inmates dead.

Corrections Department Director Bryan Stirling says inmates were fighting over cell phones that were smuggled into the prison.

McMaster says he wants Congress to change a law that prevents prison officials from jamming cell phone signals.
