Senate Passes New Abortion Restrictions

(Columbia, SC)  --  A new South Carolina abortion law could lead to a showdown in the Supreme Court.

The senate last night passed a bill that restricts abortion except in cases of rape, incest or life-threatening medical emergencies.

Supporters expect and hope it gets challenged in court.  Edgefield Republican Shane Massey tells "The State" the law is designed to give the high court a chance to revisit Roe v. Wade.
