(Columbia, SC) -- The head of the state's prison system says steps are being taken to improve morale.
Department of Corrections Director Brian Stirling addressed state lawmakers yesterday to discuss changes in the works since a deadly riot in Lee County.
Stirling says the best way to boost morale among officers is to hire more officers and pay them more. 'ABC Columbia' reports he says he'd like to hire another 100 officers.
