(Orangeburg, SC) -- An electrical problem is blamed for helping three inmates escape in Orangeburg County.
Officials said yesterday the malfunction caused the locks on some cell doors to release this weekend. Administrator Harold Young says that release is actually a safety feature.
He tells 'WACH Fox' it's meant to help inmates get out of their cells to avoid being trapped if there's a fire.
