All Five GOP Contenders Debate For The First Time

The five Republican gubernatorial candidates took the stage last night at Clemson University marking the first time all five have appeared in a debate.

Gov. Henry McMaster, Lt. Gov. Kevin Bryant, former Lt. Gov. Yancey McGill, along with former state agency head and attorney Catherine Templeton and Upstate businessman John Warren.

The one hour debate covered numerous topics including state spending, child safety, roads, jobs, abortion and the failed V.C. Summer nuclear plant expansion.

The five GOP hopefuls will go at each other again, about a week before the June 12th primary.

The three Democratic gubernatorial primary candidates meet for their next debate tonight at 7 at Clemson.
