Richland County Council Votes To Defer Renaissance Plan

(Columbia, SC)  --  The Richland Renaissance project could be heading to an early death.

The Richland County Council voted yesterday to bring the project to a halt and take a fresh look at it.

The vote came after eight million dollars had already been spent to buy property that would be part of the project.

Plans included new county government offices at Columbia Place Mall, a downtown courthouse, a transportation center and a hospital.
