(Columbia, SC) -- Missouri's athletics director is sorry for comments he made about USC women's basketball coach Dawn Staley.
Jim Sterk's apology was issued yesterday on the same day a defamation lawsuit Staley filed against him was settled.
Staley filed the suit after Sterk claimed in January that she created a hostile game environment that led to Missouri players being spit at.
Half of the 50-thousand dollar settlement will go toward Staley's nonprofit that buys sneakers for children in need.
