(Columbia, SC) -- A candidate who ignored calls to drop out is celebrating a victory.
Archie Parnell won yesterday's Democratic primary for the Fifth Congressional District after he admitted last month to abusing his ex-wife more than 40 years ago.
That led some staff members to quit, and some politicians to pull their endorsements and call for him to quit the race.
