(Spartanburg, SC) -- The governor denies his people were involved in an effort to suppress the vote in the Upstate.
Former Fourth Congressional District candidate Dan Hamilton recently claimed that someone close to Governor Henry McMaster contacted him about trying to delay the runoff for the Republican nomination.
That would have possibly lowered turnout in an area where McMaster opponent John Warren has strong support in the runoff for the Republican nomination in the governor's race.
McMaster calls the report total nonsense, but Hamilton tells '7News' he stands by his story, though he doesn't believe McMaster was personally involved.
