(Columbia, SC) -- A state senator will get a chance to become a congressman in the Upstate.
William Timmons beat former state senator Lee Bright yesterday in the runoff for the Fourth Congressional District.
Timmons got 54 percent of the vote, unofficially, to win the Republican nomination and the chance to replace Congressman Trey Gowdy.
On the Democratic side, businessman Brandon Brown beat Doris Lee Turner with 62 percent of the vote, unofficially.
