(Columbia, SC) -- A deal to merge SCANA with a Virginia company is moving forward, but several steps remain.
A federal agency last week approved the merger of SCANA with Dominion Energy, but now SCANA shareholders have to sign off on the deal at a meeting in two weeks.
Also that week, a hearing is scheduled for a lawsuit filed by SCE-and-G to overturn rate cuts passed by lawmakers.
If SCE&G loses that suit, Dominion tells News 19 it could mean the merger doesn't go forward.
