(Columbia, SC) -- Domestic violence is costing a mayor his job. Governor Henry McMaster on Friday removed Ware Shoals Mayor John Kay Hansen from office.
Hansen pleaded guilty two months ago to domestic violence in an incident two years ago involving his wife.
McMaster removed Hansen because state law allows the governor to remove an office holder for moral turpitude.
