(Columbia, SC) -- An annual tradition that brings police and residents together takes place tonight across the state.
The 35th Annual National Night Out is being held across Lexington, Irmo and Fort Jackson, among other places in the Midlands.
In the Lowcountry, events will be held in North Charleston, Bluffton, Yemassee and Estill.
In the Upstate, Mauldin will also take part along with other cities to promote community safety.
