(Columbia, SC) -- There appears to be good news for homeowners looking to save money on utility bills.
Duke Energy announced this week it will bring back a program, called net-metering, that gives homeowners low-cost solar energy panels.
Net-metering was set to end because Duke reached a cap on the number of rooftop solar panels, but Duke says the program will now continue through next spring.
The Public Service Commission still needs to approve the deal.
