(Florence, SC) -- A police officer killed in the line of duty is being remembered for his courage and compassion.
Florence Police Officer Terrence Carraway was killed in a shootout late yesterday afternoon, and six other law enforcement officers were hurt.
Police Chief Allen Heidler calls Carraway the bravest officer he ever knew.
According to his Facebook page, Carraway lived in his hometown of Darlington, and among those posting tributes, one man calls Carraway a fair officer and an awesome man.
