(Columbia, SC) -- A high school football player is facing the challenge of his life today.
Richland Northeast High School quarterback Josh Boyd will have heart surgery this afternoon at MUSC in Charleston.
He suffered a heart attack this week while playing a pickup basketball game, and thankfully, an off-duty firefighter was there to perform CPR.
Doctors discovered Boyd has an enlarged heart, and the organizer behind a GoFundMe page says he has a long road ahead.
