(Newberry, SC) -- A student in Newberry County is in custody after bringing a gun to school and causing a lockdown.
Eighteen-year-old Anthony Blakely was arrested yesterday on suspicion of possessing a firearm on school grounds.
He was caught with the gun in his bag yesterday, and when the teacher tried to confront him, he grabbed the gun and took off.
An Active Shooter Alert was called and the campus went into a complete lockdown. No one was hurt and no shots fired.
