(Columbia, SC) -- The governor can claim victory in a legal showdown over Santee Cooper.
The state Supreme Court ruled yesterday that Governor Henry McMaster can appoint Charlie Condon as chairman of the board of the state-owned utility.
McMaster nominated the former attorney general eight months ago, but Condon was never confirmed by the state Senate.
The Senate then sued to stop Condon from assuming his seat, but yesterday's ruling means Condon will be installed next month.
