(Sumter, SC) -- A teenager is accused of going to frightening lengths to get money from his mother.
Sumter 19-year-old Emmanuel Franklin is charged with blackmail after deputies say he faked his own kidnapping last week.
Franklin allegedly had someone call his mother and demand 130 dollars or else her son would be harmed.
She complied, but deputies say Franklin admitted to making the whole thing up just so he could get the money.
