(Orangeburg, SC) -- An investigation is underway in Orangeburg where a man was attacked by a hammer and then shot to death.
The scene unfolded early on January 11th.
Authorities say a man and woman broke into the 68-year-old victim's apartment on Amelia Village where the unknown woman attacked him with a hammer and the unknown man shot him.
He called police and was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
