(Columbia, SC) -- Columbia's mayor is looking to state lawmakers to help make the city safer.
Six people have been murdered in the first two months of 2019, which is three more than at this point last year.
Mayor Steve Benjamin says there are too many guns on the streets, and he recently told WACH Fox state lawmakers need to approve longer background checks.
