(Greenville, SC) -- An Upstate man who achieved internet fame for his act of generosity is accused of being a drug dealer.
Piedmont 46-year-old Detric McGowan was arrested yesterday for allegedly importing heroin, cocaine and fentanyl into the US from Mexico last year.
A day earlier, McGowan was praised for buying more than 500 dollars worth of Girl Scout cookies in Mauldin so the girls wouldn't have to spend all day outside in the cold.
The story spread on Facebook, but deputies say the story has no connection to his arrest.
