(Sumter, SC) -- The state is taking drastic action against Sumter County schools.
Education Superintendent Molly Spearman announced yesterday that the Sumter District is under a Fiscal Emergency. This puts the district in danger of having the state take over its finances.
Spearman says she made the move because the district hasn't improved its finances despite announcing a plan to do so.
