(Columbia, SC) -- Columbia's mayor is calling for some changes to make ride-sharing safer.
Mayor Steve Benjamin's announcement yesterday comes after the death of USC student Samantha Josephson, who was killed after getting into a car she mistakenly thought was her Uber ride.
Benjamin is calling for all ride-share cars to be inspected by the city, sometimes randomly, and those that pass inspection will have a sticker indicating so.
He also wants all drivers to be registered and fingerprinted.
