Drowning Death Ruled Accidental

The drowning death of a Pelion High school student on Sunday has been ruled an accident, according to the Orangeburg County coroner.

18 year old Marcus Dwyer was swimming with friend in the Edisto river when he was encouraged to jump into the water from a bridge.

He did so, but drowned. His family questions the circumstances surrounding the drowning saying that Dwyer couldn't swim and wouldn't have done that, but the coroner says it was an accident.

The body was found about three hours after Dwyer went under.
