SC Senate OK's Panther's Incentive Package

The $115 million incentive package to bring the Carolina Panthers into the Palmetto State finally made it through the Senate yesterday. And not a moment too soon.

The Senate voted 27-15 to approve the bill, but it was never a sure thing. The bill has been hung up in the Senate for a couple of months by Sen. Dick Harpootlian who questioned whether or the deal was a good one for state taxpayers.

But in the end, the Senate passed it. A similar version passed the House and a committee will likely work out the differences.

The vote is a big win for Governor McMaster.
