SC Facing EMT Shortage

South Carolina is dealing with a problem that is becoming more and more common around the country...not enough emergency medical technicians, or EMTs.

The Greenville News is reporting that the education is available in the state, but the career isn't attracting enough people. Plus, a lot of people leave the career in just a few years because of low pay, long hours, and poor working conditions.

Officials plan to beef up recruitment in a number of ways, including at high schools.
