Midlands Under Code Orange For Air Quality

(Columbia, SC) -- Those with compromised immune systems may be in for a tough day. 

DHEC yesterday issued a Code Orange alert for the Central Midlands because of unhealthy air quality. Breathing could be especially difficult for those suffering from asthma or other lung problems. 

The Code Orange is in effect from 10:00 to 8:00 today for Richland, Lexington, Kershaw, Newberry, Calhoun, Fairfield, Newberry, Saluda and Sumter counties.
